Volunteers Sought to Bring Hope at CityServe’s HopeFest
Valley of the Sun United Way is seeking volunteers eager to make a difference for individuals and their entire community for CityServe Arizona’s HopeFest Phoenix event. This is the largest same-day charitable direct-services outreach event in Maricopa County, organized and is held by CityServe, which brings together hundreds of helping agencies, organizations and individuals to provide thousands of people FREE medical care, dental care, food, clothing, personal care products, haircuts, employment services, housing services, spiritual support and so much more — while providing a wealth of information in a festive atmosphere where families can play and enjoy the day. Valley of the Sun United Way is proud to serve in a volunteer attraction and support capacity.
When: Saturday, April 20TH, 2013
Where: Chase Field
401 E. Jefferson St.
Phoenix, AZ 85004
Time: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. (two volunteer shifts available)
Volunteer role:
Volunteer ‘navigators’ will help direct people to services they may need, answer questions and be a friendly face. You’ll have time to connect with people and share hope – which is a highlight for many of the event attendees. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, or 12 and older with a parent. Navigators will become familiar with the list of available services and their event locations at the beginning of your shift during volunteer training.
