Volunteers Offer Free Tax Help
PHOENIX -- Individuals and families who earned up to $50,000 last year can get free tax help from Internal Revenue Service-certified volunteers.
The Valley of the Sun United Way is teaming up with community colleges, churches and other groups to offer locations and volunteers. The focus is on making sure qualified workers get their Earned Income Tax Credit which can be worth more than $5,000.
"The IRS estimates that only four out of five that are eligible for it actually claim it," said Charlie Boyce with the Valley of the Sun United Way. "And you have to claim it to receive it."
Locations and hours in the West Valley can be found at vsuw.org.
Free tax help throughout the state can be found at 211arizona.org
