Valentine’s Day Event Spreads Love to End Homelessness
Project Connect brings hope to many in need
Hundreds of Valley volunteers will converge at North Hills Church in Phoenix on Valentine’s Day to spread the kind of love that changes lives for the better at Valley of the Sun United Way’s next Project Connect event.
What better day to touch lives than a holiday where we will all be focused on love and kindness? This special Valentine’s Day Project Connect enables our volunteers to help those who are experiencing homelessness or at risk connect to more than 30 important human service providers on their journey toward stability.
Our partners and volunteers have impacted more than 9,500 lives for the better during the monthly events held throughout the Valley, since its inception in 2008 – connecting attendees to vital needs including housing, food and clothing, wellness checks, job and training resources.
Media is welcome to speak to guests, volunteers, providers and United Way experts. Prospective volunteers can sign up www.vsuw.org/projectconnect or contact us at volunteer@vsuw.org.

Why: Homelessness impacts our entire community, with thousands of individuals experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County on any given day, and many at risk after experiencing a job loss, medical cost or foreclosure. Many people who experience or are at risk of homelessness are veterans or families with children. Project Connect is a big part of a regional solution to end homelessness. It is a national model which changes individual lives and the community as a whole.
